"A-Bomb Victim Lists" were opened to public on August 1 on Floor
B1 of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in Naka Ward, Hiroshima. The
lists may provide clues to the whereabouts of those missing since the atomic
bombing. The lists will remain available through August 6.
A total of 83 documents are displayed on tables for the public to see.
The documents include autopsy reports of A-bomb victims found in 1968 at
the Hiroshima Higashi Police Station. The lists were compiled by hospitals
and the police.
These documents contain names, addresses, and the circumstances at the
time of the bombing for 23,039 victims. Last year, the lists led to the
verification of 13 deaths and one injured survivor.
In the same location, receiving and confirmation for registration in the
record of A-Bomb Deceased is a taking place along with disclosure of name
lists for the A-Bomb Memorial Mound.
